DHAKA, March 8, 2026 (BSS) - Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon today stressed the need to further strengthen coordination with international development partners to improve the overall quality of Bangladesh’s education system and develop modern infrastructure.
He made the remarks during a meeting with Asian Development Bank (ADB) Bangladesh Country Director Hoe Yun Jeong at the Ministry of Education here today.
During the meeting, they discussed in detail ways to enhance ongoing and future cooperation in Bangladesh’s education sector.
The discussion particularly focused on improving the quality of education, developing human resources, expanding digital education and building a technology-based education system.
Besides the development of secondary education, the meeting also discussed the possibility of increasing ADB support for strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and enhancing research and technological capacity in higher education.
ADB has long been playing a significant role in the development of Bangladesh’s education sector. The meeting also reviewed the progress of ongoing projects supported by the development partner.
Highlighting various priority initiatives of the government in the education sector, the Minister Milon thanked ADB for its continued support.
ADB Country Director Hoe Yun Jeong assured continued cooperation in the development of Bangladesh’s education sector and expressed interest in supporting the government’s development initiatives.
Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division Abdul Khaleque, senior officials of the Ministry and ADB representatives were present at the meeting.
