CHATTOGRAM, March 8, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Chattogram Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, MP, has reaffirmed that the government's zero-tolerance policy to combat crime remains fully in force in Chattogram.
He said various initiatives are underway to ensure public safety and maintain law and order in the city.
The minister made the remarks to journalists after attending a law and order meeting as the Chief Guest at the Chattogram Circuit House on Sunday afternoon.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah, during which Mir Helal Uddin stressed the importance of regular coordination with law enforcement agencies to tackle crime, in line with directives from the Prime Minister.
He noted that the government is committed to controlling crime, and efforts by the administration have also helped keep commodity prices under control in Chattogram. The minister added that the government is focused on ensuring normalcy ahead of Eid and beyond.
The meeting was attended by Abu Sufian, MP, along with senior officials from the administration, police, Chattogram Development Authority (CDA), City Corporation and other stakeholders.
