CHATTOGRAM, Mar 8, 2026 (BSS) - City Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain emphasized that BNP has come to the power through the votes of the people, not through any backdoor deals or favors. 

“Whenever BNP has been in power, it was due to the direct support and votes of the people,” he added.  

The mayor made the remarks during a food distribution event organized by former councilor Niaz Md. Khan, joint convener of the city BNP, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan at Chandmahal Tower in Dhaniwala Para of the city on Saturday afternoon.

Rice, pulses, and essential iftar and food items were distributed among 400 helpless and low-income families.

Dr. Shahadat said over the past 16 months, he has been working for the welfare of the city residents and will continue to serve them in the future.
