MYMENSINGH, March 8, 2026 (BSS) - Coordinator of Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal
Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, MP, today said the organisation will
remain vocal in establishing discipline and ensuring the rights of workers.

"Workers are the main driving force of a country's economy. Industries,
businesses and overall economic progress stand on their labour, sweat and
sacrifices. But unfortunately, in many cases workers are deprived of their
rightful entitlements and face discrimination, injustice and unsafe working
conditions at workplaces," he said.

The lawmaker was addressing a views-exchange meeting titled "Labour Situation
and the Role of Labour Organizations" as the chief guest at Suryamukhi Hall
of Shahjahan Community Centre in Mymensingh city today.

The meeting was organised by the divisional committee along with district
units and trade unions of the organisation.

Shimul Biswas said the labour community is deeply connected with a country's
economy, development and social justice, adding that Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal
will continue to raise its voice for establishing workers' discipline and
rights.

Chaired by labour leader Abu Sayeed and moderated by Abdus Sobahan, it was
also addressed by Sramik Dal publicity secretary Manjurul Islam Manju and
local leaders Anwar Hossain, Idris Ali, Asadul Islam, Fazlur Rahman Nantu,
Sazedul Islam Sayem, Moniruzzaman Monir and Shah Sujan.

Shimul Biswas said Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal has always been vocal in
protecting the legitimate rights of workers and will continue to do so in the
future.

"We believe that ensuring workers' rights is as important as maintaining
discipline at workplaces. Without discipline, no industry or institution can
survive in the long run, and sustainable development is not possible by
ignoring workers' rights," he said.

He said the organisation has long been working to ensure fair wages, safe
working environments, health protection, social security and proper
implementation of labour laws.

"We want workers to work with dignity, receive the fair value of their labour
and remain free from exploitation and oppression at workplaces," he added.
Shimul Biswas also called upon workers to maintain discipline, responsibility
and professional integrity in their workplaces.
"Only through mutual respect, understanding and cooperation between workers
and employers can the industrial sector move forward," he said.

He said the organisation firmly believes that a just and prosperous society
can be built through protecting workers' rights and ensuring discipline.

As part of a series of programmes, the meeting was held today, while another
meeting of the Chattogram divisional committee will be held on March 10.

Similar meetings will be organised gradually in all divisions of the country,
he added.
