DHAKA, March 5, 2026 (BSS) - The BNP backed "White Panel" teachers of Dhaka University (DU) today demanded quick arrest of the accused killer of Islami University assistant professor Asma Sadia Runa and ensure exemplary punishment of the perpetrators.

The demand came while DU white panel convener Professor Dr Morshed Khan, Joint convener Professor Dr Abdus Salam and Professor Dr M Abul Kalam Sarker gave a statement here.

The killing of a teacher at her working place is not only a gross insult for the Islami University but also for the whole teachers’ community of the country, they said in the statement.

The teachers association leaders also have pressed home to unearth the real cause behind the murder and ensure to bring the accused to book after arrest them as soon as possible.
