MUNSHIGANJ, Feb 7, 2026 (BSS) - All polling rooms in Munshiganj district have been brought under closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance to ensure a free, fair and orderly voting process in the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum.
According to the District Election Office, there are a total of 469 polling centers with 2,946 polling rooms for 1,419,614 registered voters across three constituencies in the district. CCTV cameras have been installed in every polling room as well as in the surrounding areas of the centers.
In Munshiganj-1 constituency, 1,118 polling rooms have been set up in 80 centers in Srinagar and 90 centers in Sirajdikhan.
In Munshiganj-2, there are 782 polling rooms in 55 centers in Louhajang and 75 centers in Tongibari.
Meanwhile, Munshiganj-3 constituency has 1,046 polling rooms across 117 centers in Sadar upazila and 52 centers in Gazaria.
Kazi Rafiqul Islam, headmaster of Bashirannesa High School, said that CCTV cameras have been installed covering every polling room as well as the entire area outside the rooms to strengthen election security.
Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Syeda Nurmahal Ashrafi said that special measures have been taken to ensure a smooth voting process. “CCTV surveillance has been installed in all polling stations, including 272 highly vulnerable centers and 100 vulnerable centers. Necessary preparations, including uninterrupted electricity supply, have already been completed,” she said.
She further added that an adequate number of law enforcement personnel will be deployed to maintain law and order throughout the voting period.
