TANGAIL, Jan 31, 2026 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) Election Management Committee Chairman Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan today said that if the 11-party alliance comes to power, it will make public the income and expenditure statements of government officials and employees through a website titled 'Hishab Dao' to ensure transparency and accountability.

"We will disclose the income and expenditure details of government officials and employees before the people through the 'Hishab Dao' website, Insha'Allah," he said while addressing a roadside rally at the Pilot High School ground in Ghatail upazila of Tangail this afternoon.

Asif Mahmud also pledged to ensure justice for all martyrs killed from the 2009 BDR mutiny through Shapla Chattar and the 2024 mass uprising. Referring to his own conduct in office, he said he had returned a government house, a bed and official materials while stepping down as an adviser, underscoring his commitment to accountability.

He said special allocations amounting to Tk 34 million had earlier been provided for local development, including road infrastructure, following requests from Saifullah Haider and residents of the area. "If you elect him, he will be able to work even more for you," he added.

Commenting on Bangladesh-India relationship, Asif Mahmud said Bangladesh is surrounded on three sides by a single country and expects respectful neighbourly relations.

He said if the 11-party alliance forms the government, arrangements will be made to provide military training to youths under the supervision of the armed forces, with the number of trainees doubled.

He criticised attempts to rehabilitate fascist forces, warning that people would again face repression if such forces return to power.

Addressing the rally, 11-party alliance-nominated candidate for Tangail-3 (Ghatail) constituency Saifullah Haider said he would not seek a single vote if any of his activists or relatives engaged in extortion.

He alleged that extortion had continued in different parts of Ghatail over the last 17 months and vowed to launch movements against extortion, bribery and corruption.

He also promised environment-friendly industrialisation, construction of a 25-bed hospital in the hills, installation of "corruption boxes" in every ward to receive complaints, and said he would not take a single taka beyond his official salary if elected to parliament.

Jatiya Jubo Shakti Convener Advocate Tarikul Islam warned against attempts to seize polling centres and said the 11-party alliance would resist any move to deprive people of their voting rights.

Among others, NCP Election Management Committee Secretary Monira Sharmin, NCP central joint member secretary Faisal Mahmud Shanta, Tangail district NCP Convener Kamruzzaman Babul, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish leader Mufti Mashrur Ahmed, and Tangail district Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Principal Hosne Mobarak Babul also addressed the rally.
