DHAKA, June 21, 2026 (BSS) – The country will celebrate ‘Nazrul Year’ from 25 May 2026 to 25 May 2027 marking the 127th birth anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, said a gazette notification issued by Cabinet Division Secretary Nasimul Gani.

Earlier, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman announced the observance of the "Nazrul Year" while speaking at a programme marking Kazi Nazrul Islam’s 127th birth anniversary in Trishal of Mymensingh on May 25 this year.
