DHAKA, Jan 25, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 46 people in the past 24 hours as part of Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2, conducted across several crime-prone areas of the capital.
The coordinated drive was carried out by Jatrabari, Mugda, Rupnagar, Banani, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar and Bangshal police stations, targeting individuals involved in various criminal activities.
Deputy Commissioner of Detective Branch (DB), Media and Public Relations Division, DMP, Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the arrests.
According to police sources, Jatrabari Police Station arrested the highest number of suspects, detaining 17 people during a day-long operation on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Mugda Police Station arrested 11 people, Rupnagar Police Station arrested eight, Banani Police Station and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station arrested four each, and Bangshal Police Station arrested two people.
Police officials stated that the operations were conducted in identified crime-prone areas under each station's jurisdiction as part of the ongoing special drive to curb crime and ensure public safety in the capital.
All the arrested individuals have been sent to the court for further legal proceedings.
DMP officials said such operations will continue in different parts of Dhaka to maintain law and order and bring offenders to justice.
