Navy Family Welfare Association distributes winter clothes in Mirpur

DHAKA, Jan 05, 2026 (BSS) – The Bangladesh Navy Family Welfare Association (BNFWA) today distributed winter clothes to the poor, destitute, and cold-affected residents of the Naval Residential Area in Mirpur.

The programme was part of the association’s ongoing social initiatives and commitment to humanitarian responsibility, according to an Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) release.

Nadia Sultana, President of BNFWA, attended the event as the chief guest and handed over winter clothes to the distressed people.

Chairperson of the BN Ladies Club Dhaka, the Chairperson and Vice Presidents of BNFWA’s central committee, the Commander of Dhaka Naval Area, and members of the executive committee of the Dhaka branch were also present at the event. 

The Navy’s role goes beyond safeguarding the country’s maritime boundaries and ensuring maritime security; it also regularly undertakes humanitarian activities to support underprivileged and distressed members of society.

The Bangladesh Navy Family Welfare Association continues to contribute to education, healthcare, and social welfare, as well as providing disaster relief and other humanitarian support, playing a significant role in the country’s social development.
