DHAKA, Jan 5, 2026 (BSS) - Ganosamhati Andolon Chief Coordinator Zonayed Saki today met BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman when he conveyed the left-leaning party’s deep condolence at former prime minister and BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s demise.

"We came to offer condolences,” Saki told reporters emerging from the meeting at BNP Chairman’s office in Ghulshan this afternoon.

Saki said his party was aware of Tarique Rahman's future plans while during the meeting he told the BNP leader that the state system should be established in line with '24 mass uprising aspirations following the upcoming elections.

“It is the government's responsibility to conduct the election fairly,” he said.

Ganosamhati central leaders including party's executive coordinator Abul Hasan Rubel and political committee member Taslima Akhter were present.
