Legal knowledge essential for officials to handle cases: Mahbuba Farzana

RANGPUR, Dec 18, 2025 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Secretary Mahbuba Farzana has said that it is very important for officials to have proper knowledge of the relevant laws and regulations to uphold government interests and resolve the tangle of cases.
 
"There is no alternative to following the correct law in official work to build a disciplined society and efficient administration to establish justice," she said.

She said this while virtually joining a training workshop on 'Laws and regulations helpful in handling cases, SF writing techniques and to-do' held at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room in the city on Thursday as the chief guest.
 
The Rangpur district administration organized the training workshop.
 
Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Enamul Ahsan addressed the event as special guest.
 
Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Dr Mohammad Altaf-ul-Alam, Law Officer (District Judge) Md Masud Parvez, Joint Secretary Dr Md Alam Mostafa and Deputy Secretary Sharmin Sultana conducted different sessions of the workshop as resource persons.
 
The resource persons discussed in detail the responses to government cases, the details of creating SF (Statement of Facts) and various laws.
 
 The chief guest said that the government officials and employees engaged in handling cases should maintain close communication with the lawyers. They should be extremely careful in presenting correct information, evidence and arguments. 
 
She mentioned that it would be easier to ensure justice and fairness to the plaintiff and the defendant if there is a proper understanding of the necessary rules and laws.
 
She urged all those present to use the knowledge gained from the training to establish justice and strengthen the government's hand in following the law by loving the country. 
 

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Enamul Ahsan said, "As government officials and employees, our responsibility is to have a clear understanding of the law.
 
 
"If the case is handled through the correct legal process, government property will be protected and it will be possible to avoid protracted proceedings and legal complications," he said. 
 
He urged the trainees to apply the knowledge gained from this workshop skillfully in the workplace. 

Twenty-five officials and employees of the Department of Information, Department of Mass Communication, Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television working in Rangpur division participated in the training workshop.
