DHAKA, Dec 11, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has announced traffic restrictions to ensure smooth movement of VVIPs and officials on the morning of the great Victory Day, December 16, 2025.
According to a police press release, the measures aim to facilitate the movement of the President, the Chief Adviser to the Interim Government, the Chief Justice, advisers of various ministries, foreign diplomats, and other high-ranking officials and organizational leaders who will attend the wreath-laying ceremony at the National Memorial in Savar.
The official procession is scheduled to march from Dhaka via Amin Bazar to the National Memorial, prompting significant traffic diversions.
In a statement signed by Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali, the DMP advised that from 3:00 am to 9:30 am on December 16, buses, trucks, covered vans, microbuses, private cars, CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and other vehicles should avoid the Gabtoli-Amin Bazar Bridge-Savar Road.
DMP has suggested the following alternative routes:
Vehicles heading from Gabtoli via Savar may use Dhaka Airport Road Abdullahpur Crossing Ashulia Road.
Vehicles from Kalyanpur or Technical Crossing should turn right at Technical Crossing Mirpur-01 Diabari Crossing.
Vehicles from Aricha via Amin Bazar (toward Dhaka) should turn left at Nabinagar Bazar Ashulia Road.
Vehicles from Tangail (toward Dhaka) are advised to take Kaliakoir Gazipur Intersection Tongi.
The DMP urged citizens, vehicle owners, and transport workers to cooperate with traffic police and follow the prescribed directions to maintain smooth traffic management during the Victory Day observance.
