DHAKA, Dec 9, 2025 (BSS) - Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested three drug peddlers with a total of 6,000 yaba tablets during separate raids in the city.

The arrestees were identified as Md Rafiq, 63, Shamsunnahar Munni, 40, and Rasna Akter, 42, said a DMP press release today.

A DB team from Gulshan raided the Malibagh Chowdhury Para area around 11:00 pm and arrested Rafiq with 2,000 yaba tablets. Another team conducted a raid in the Gabtoli area at 12.12 am and apprehended Munni, seizing 2,000 yaba tablets. 

Later, around 1:45 am, a separate DB team arrested Rasna Akter in Kallyanpur and recovered another 2,000 tablets.

Deputy Commissioner of DMP Muhammad Talebur Rahman said legal action is underway against the three.
