DHAKA, Dec 22, 2025 (BSS) - DHAKA, April 24, 2025 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,722 cases against motor vehicles, owners and its drivers for violating traffic rules in a single day across the capital.
A media release of the DMP today said that they filed those cases and realized the money on Sunday (December 21) through their regular drives against the traffic rule breakers.
A total of 262 motor vehicles were dumped and 108 vehicles were towed due to poor driving practices, said Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of the DMP.
Motijheel traffic division filed 229 cases while Wari division registered 122 cases, Tejgaon division filed 204 cases, Mirpur division filed 163 cases, Gulshan division filed 443 cases, Uttara division registered 346 cases, Ramna division filed 93 cases and Lalbagh division registered 122 cases against motor vehicles as well as three wheelers and motorcycles, it said.
"The drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets," the release said, adding that the DMP has been working to bring the traffic system under smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement.
