CHATTOGRAM, Nov 29, 2025 (BSS)- Senior Join Secretary General of BNP Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said deposed former fascist ruler Sheikh Hasina considered Begum Khaleda Zia as “a thorn on her path”.
“That’s why many people believed that Sheikh Hasina had attempted to vanish BNP Chairperson from the earth by infusing slow poison in food while Begum Zia was in jail,” he said.
Rizvi made the remarks while speaking at a function as the chief guest to hand over cheques of donation on behalf of Acting BNP chairman Tarique Rahman among the members of seven families of July Uprising Martyrs and Injured persons at Mirerkhil School Filed at Hathazari this morning.
As a part of humanitarian assistance program, Amra BNP Paribar organized the function to provide donations to the martyr families and injured persons.
Divisional Assistant Organizing Secretary of BNP and party candidate from Chattogram -5 Hathazari constituency Barrister Mir Helal and Convenor of Amra BNP Paribar Atiqur Rahman Ruman were present.
Rizvi said irregularities loomed large during ousted regime of Sheikh Hasina when she stockpiled huge quantities of gold ornaments personally and laundered money abroad by looting banks.
“Hasina fled the country leaving behind everything but did not take back the hoarded gold ornaments” he said.
Rizvi called upon the interim government to handle strongly the deteriorated law and order situation and resist the social violence saying that existence of illegal arms, incidents of murder have been increased alarmingly during post 5th August time.
He said that only 75 thousands non-resident Bangladeshis (NRB) could enlist their names as voters although at least one crore people are living abroad.
He demanded the Election Commission to take effective measures to allow all NRB’s to be registered as voters by using passport.
Rizvi requested the countrymen to pray for quick recovery of Begum Khaleda Zia.
