DHAKA, Dec 28, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman today sat at the party's Gulshan office for the first time since returning to the country after a long seventeen years.

The vehicle carrying Tarique Rahman entered the BNP Chairperson's office at Gulshan at 1:40 PM. He came to the office from his residence on Gulshan Avenue.
This office was opened for the BNP Chairperson following the political changeover of "One-Eleven" (1/11). Tarique Rahman last visited this office in 2008.

Stepping out of the car, the BNP Acting Chairman first exchanged greetings with everyone present, and then entered the office building.

Led by senior leader Dr. Khondaker Mosharraf Hossain, the BNP standing committee members welcomed Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman to the Chairperson's office with flowers.

After the exchange of greetings, Tarique Rahman proceeded to his chamber on the second floor and sat there. He exchanged views with members of the party's National Standing Committee and other leaders.

A video sent by the BNP Media Cell showed Tarique Rahman smiling and chatting with senior party leaders in a room inside the office. The leaders inquired about his physical condition following his return to the country. 

Tarique Rahman was also seen chatting with them with a smile. Overall, an atmosphere of cordiality was created there.

Among the Standing Committee members present were Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, and Selima Rahman. 

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, party's Media Cell Convener Moudud Hossain Alamgir Pavel, Media Cell member Atiqur Rahman Rumen, Acting Chairman's adviser Mahdi Amin, officials of the Chairperson's office, and leaders from the Bogura district unit was also present.

A separate chamber has also been prepared for the Acting Chairman at the BNP's central office in Naya Paltan. The chamber has been created on the second floor, next to the Chairperson's chamber.

Tarique Rahman returned to his homeland on December 25. As part of a series of programs since his return, he has participated in various political and social activities.

 BNP leaders believe that Tarique Rahman's visit will inject new momentum into the party's organizational activities. They feel it will play a crucial role, especially in the preparations for upcoming political programs and the next election.

There is widespread interest and anticipation among party leaders and activists surrounding Tarique Rahman's presence at the office. The activists view this as a significant political moment for the party.
