DHAKA, Nov 23, 2025(BSS)- Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has asked three relatives of former cabinet secretary Kabir Bin Anwar to submit their wealth statements to the commission immediately.
The ACC has been investigating allegations of acquiring huge illegal wealth by misusing illegal power of Kabir Bin Anwar through irregularities and corruption.
The commission served the notices to Kabir’s sister-Shyamoli Hossain, her husband Md Shahdat Hossain and another sister Emelda Hossain.
Deputy Director (DD) of the Public Relations Department of the ACC Md Aktarul Islam said the commission during its primary inquiry found wealth worth about Taka 1.92 crore owned by Kabir’s sister and also a lecturer of Wills Little School and College Shyamoli Hossain that was beyond her known sources of income.
Besides, the ACC also found that Md Shahdat Hossain, husband of Shyamoli Hossain and brother-in-law of Kabir Bin Anwar, has illegally acquired wealth worth about Taka 6.96 crore.
Aktarul Islam said, the commission also revealed that Kabir’s another sister of Emelda Hossain who is also the head of the English Version section of the same institution has earned Taka 55.22 lakh .
The commission has been trying to find out more illegal assets and properties of Emelda Hossain, he said.
The commission has already served notices to them under section 26(1) of the ACC Act-2004 asking to submit their wealth statements to the commission immediately.
