DHAKA, Nov 23, 2025 (BSS) - The four-day Ceramic Expo Bangladesh 2025, one of Asia's largest international ceramic trade exhibitions, will begin on November 27 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital.

Organised by the Bangladesh Ceramic Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BCMEA), the expo will bring together leading manufacturers, technology innovators, raw material suppliers and buyers from around the world, said a press release here.

This year marks the fourth edition of the expo, which is set to host 135 companies and 300 global brands from 25 countries.

More than 500 international delegates and buyers are expected to participate, reflecting the growing international interest in Bangladesh's rapidly expanding ceramic sector.

The announcement was made at a press conference at the Dhaka Reporters Unity auditorium today, where BCMEA President Moynul Islam briefed the media on the expo's objectives and the industry's accelerated growth.

Fair Committee Chairman and BCMEA General Secretary Irfan Uddin also spoke at the briefing, underscoring the expo's contribution to enhancing Bangladesh's global footprint in the ceramic manufacturing.

Senior BCMEA officials, including Senior Vice Presidents, Md. Mamunur Rashid FCMA and Abdul Hakim Sumon, Vice President, Rashid Mymunul Islam and Director Md. Ziaul Hoque Zico were present.

Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin will formally inaugurate the fair on November 27 at ICCB, while Foreign Affairs Adviser Mohammad Touhid Hossain will attend a special session as the chief guest on November 29.

BCMEA President Moynul Islam said the ceramic industry has experienced exponential growth over the past decade, with more than 70 factories currently operating in the country and meeting a domestic market demand valued at Tk 8,000 crore annually. Production and investment have risen by nearly 150 percent during this period.

He said Bangladesh now exports ceramic products to over 50 countries, earning nearly Tk 500 crore annually. Total investment in the sector exceeds Tk 18,000 crore, providing direct and indirect employment to around 500,000 people.

Islam noted that major global ceramic manufacturers, including China and India, are increasingly interested in investing in Bangladesh due to its competitive cost advantage and rising export potential.

Fair Committee Chairman Irfan Uddin said Bangladeshi ceramic products continue to gain global recognition for quality, durability and modern design with new export markets emerging.

The expo will remain open to visitors free of charge from 10:00am to 6:00pm every day and is expected to attract a large number of buyers, suppliers, industry stakeholders and members of the public.
