DHAKA, Nov 10, 2025 (BSS)- BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has said that the country's manpower should be tuned into human resources to build a new Bangladesh with the spirit of July Uprising.
"Our dream to build a new Bangladesh depends on making the existing manpower into resources which is the main driving force for country’s future development," he said.
Khasru said this while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar titled "Skilled Manpower-The Foundation of Nation Building" here today.
Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) arranged the seminar at IDEB auditorium in Kakrail marking the Public Engineering Day and 55th founding anniversary of IDEB.
Convener of IDEB Kabir Hossain was in the chair and Secretary General Kazi Shakhawat Hossain moderated the seminar.
Emphasizing the need for building a merit-based Bangladesh Khasru said, Country's progress is not possible without technology and merit based development.
“In this era of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the world has advanced significantly. Now, if you want to reach that level, we must build a technology-dependent country," he noted.
Amir Khasru said BNP has a plan to create ten million jobs for unemployed people if the party comes to power.
“It’s not just a political statement. We have announced this plan after necessary homework," he said adding that the jobs will be created in the agriculture, cottage industries, IT, business and other sectors.
Amir Khasru said the BNP government will not pursue mega-projects like Sheikh Hasina, rather investing in the aforesaid sectors across the country.
The BNP leader said high aspiration and leadership is needed to build the country. We have the ambitions to lift Bangladesh from its current state, he said adding a nation without high aspirations cannot prosper."
Amir Khasru reiterated his party’s plan to allocate five percent of the annual budget for education and health sector saying BNP will ensure free primary healthcare and education for all and introduce technical education from primary school level.
