
DHAKA, Feb 12, 2026 (BSS) - Postal voting in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS)
election and referendum recorded an 80.11 percent turnout, according to the
Election Commission (EC).
Salim Ahmad Khan, team leader of the OCV-SDI project on expatriate voter
registration, told BSS this evening that a total of 15, 28,131 approved
voters registered through the "Postal Vote BD" app. Of them, 12, 24,188 cast
their votes, accounting for 80.11 percent of the approved registrants.
He said returning officers received 11, 65,592 postal ballots, representing
76.28 percent of the total votes cast. Among these, 10, 73,497 ballots were
accepted as valid, which is 70.25 percent.
Salim Ahmad Khan added that postal ballots from 4,98,266 expatriate voters
reached Bangladesh, of which returning officers accepted 4,98,205 ballots.
Meanwhile, returning officers also received votes from 6,67,388 voters
residing inside the country under the In-Country Postal Voting (ICPV) System.
