CUMILLA, Feb 12, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher today expressed satisfaction over the ongoing electoral environment, saying their party will accept any result if the election is held fairly.

"We expect around 70 percent voter turnout, and good news is being received from across the country. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami will accept any result if the election is held fairly," he said.

The Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer made this remark after casting his vote in the morning at West Dekra Government Primary School centre under Alkora Union of Chauddagram. His two granddaughters were present.

Mentioning that election has so far been conducted fairly and the overall situation remains peaceful except for two to four isolated incidents, he said "If voting continues in this manner, we are hopeful of winning by a large margin."

Referring to past election experiences, Taher said he contested from the constituency in 2001 with the Daripalla (scale) symbol and in 2018 with the sheaf of paddy symbol but could not enter at the area in 2018.

About the 11-party alliance, he said they are hopeful of victory of the alliance in the current election.

He also exchanged greetings with leaders, activists and general voters present at the polling centre. The environment at the centre remained peaceful with noticeable voter presence.
