Algerian envoy meets Jamaat Ameer to discuss bilateral ties, democracy

DHAKA, Oct 8, 2025 (BSS) - The Algerian Ambassador to Bangladesh Abdel Wahab 
Saidani today paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Jamaat-e Islami Ameer Dr 
Shafiqur Rahman at his latter's office at Bashundhara in the capital this 
morning.

The meeting took place around 12pm and was attended by Secretary General and 
former Member of Parliament Professor Mia Golam Parwar, said a press release.

The dialogue focused on strengthening mutual relations between Bangladesh and 
Algeria, as well as the overall situation in Bangladesh. 

Both sides engaged in important discussions covering topics specifically 
related to sustaining democracy, investment and diplomatic issues.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador Saidani specifically inquired 
about the health of Jamaat Ameer and conveyed his wishes for the swift and 
full recovery.

Looking ahead, both the Algerian envoy and the Jamaat leader expressed 
optimism that the development, progress, and bilateral relationship between 
the two countries would become further strengthened in the future.
