DHAKA, Aug 29, 2025 (BSS) – Speakers at a discussion here today said no dictator in the world could exist in the face of people’s resistance as mass people always have changed Bangladesh history.
Although the revolution was taken on other direction but the mass people ultimately have realized their right by changing the history, they said.
The speakers made the remarks in a discussion titled ‘July revolution: critical juncture or another historical loop’, held at Intercontinental Hotel here.
The leaders who were in power for long years had tried to make the country as a colony of the foreign power, said director general of the Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB) Faruk Wasif, saying that when Delhi tried to carry out cultural aggression then the mass people resist their dominance.
When a quarter had tried to snatch power from the people of Bangladesh then the people had realized their right, he added.
The general people in this region have raised question about the power, said poet and philosopher FarhadMajhar. The peoples of Bangladesh had participated in the revolution with an ambition to build a new Bangladesh against the looters under politics, he added.
“So, we have to concentrate to the aspirations of the common people,” he added.
The students and the people of 2024 undoubtedly have created a new history through waging protest against the regime led by Awami League, said Bangla Academy director general Professor Mohammad Azam.
“The people had repeatedly participated in the revolutionsm so we have to keep our confidence positive about our future,” said Professor Dr Iftekhan Iqbal of University of Brunei Darussalam.
