BANDARBAN, Sept 2, 2026 (BSS) - Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Minister Sa Ching Prue today said the government is committed to ensuring quality education across the hill region for its sustainable development.

"The government is education-friendly and will continue working tirelessly for the overall development of the education sector," he said. The minister was speaking at a reception for meritorious students who secured GPA-5 in the 2026 SSC and Dakhil examinations.

Bandarban Municipality organized the reception at the Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium.

Sa Ching Prue appreciated the initiative of providing scholarships through various organizations to encourage meritorious students, saying such initiatives help create a spirit of healthy competition among students and inspire them to achieve better academic results.

He urged the students to devote greater attention to their studies and encouraged them to work for the welfare of the country and its people.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Sajib Kanti Rudra, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Marufa Sultana Khan Hiramoni and Principal of Bandarban Cantonment Public School and College Lt Colonel Mohammad Kamrul Hasan Khan attended the programme as special guests.

Bandarban Municipality Administrator S. M. Manjurul Haque chaired the reception. The award-winning students were honored with crests, certificates and cash prizes.
