CHATTOGRAM, Aug 24, 2026 (BSS) - In alignment with the theme, ‘A self-reliant country through silver fisheries, Bangladesh first,’ National Fisheries Day-2026 was commemorated at Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU).

To mark the day, the Faculty of Fisheries organized a discussion meeting, a poster exhibition and an award distribution ceremony today.

Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman, was present at the discussion as the chief guest.

A total of 37 posters created by students of the Faculty of Fisheries were showcased during the event. Students from five different batches actively participated in the poster display competition, presenting their works on the designated theme. 

The event was chaired by Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries Professor Dr. Md. Faisal and moderated by Associate Professor Naima Ferdousi Haque of the Department of Marine Bioresource Science.
