DHAKA, Aug 13, 2026 (BSS)- The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has taken special security measures across the country to maintain law and order, ensure public safety and prevent any kind of sabotage and violence ahead of August 15. 
 
According to a RAB press release issued today, intelligence surveillance on the activities and movements of extremist groups, banned organizations, anti-state and anti-government groups has been intensified to prevent any untoward situation during programmes organized by various political parties across the country. 

The release added that each battalion reviewed security threats and prepared security plans, while necessary security measures have been strengthened at sensitive locations in the respective areas.

RAB will carry out its duties under its own command, while coordination has been established with the Special Security Force (SSF), local administration, other law enforcement agencies and intelligence agencies, the release said.

Intelligence teams in plain clothes are monitoring routes leading to programme venues to prevent any untoward incident while cyber patrolling has also been intensified to prevent rumours and misinformation on social media. 

RAB said immediate action would be taken against those attempting to create disorder through misleading posts, comments or images.

The Bomb Disposal Unit has been kept ready to respond if any explosive or suspected explosive substance is found, it said.

RAB urged the public to remain alert and promptly inform the nearest law enforcement agency if they notice any suspicious person, object or activity.
