DHAKA, Aug 10, 2026 (BSS) - Five more children died across the country in the past 24 hours with suspected measles, according to a press release issued today by the control room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The release said 992 suspected measles patients were reported in the past 24 hours, while the number of suspected measles cases reached 137,312 from March 15 to August 10.
The number of confirmed measles cases in the past 24 hours stood at 163, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 17,278 since March 15.
From March 15 to August 10, a total of 119,322 people suspected of having measles were admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 115,139 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.
Five children died on suspicion of measles in the past 24 hours, while a total of 780 children have died of suspected measles since March 15.
No one died of confirmed measles in the past 24 hours, while 98 people have died of confirmed measles from March 15 to August 10.
