DHAKA, Dec 18, 2025 (BSS) – The Election Commission (EC) has invited international election observers and foreign media to monitor the 13th parliamentary elections and the referendum, requesting them to apply by January 17, 2026.

A circular signed today by Akhtar Ahmed, Senior Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat, stated that the referendum and the 13th National Parliament Election will be held on February 12, 2026. The EC is committed to conducting free, fair, credible, and participatory elections, keeping all election activities open for observation.

“In this context, we hope that election observers and media from around the world will join our local observers to monitor the upcoming referendum and the 13th National Parliament Election at their convenience,” the circular read.

“Accordingly, we are inviting international election observers or observation organizations and foreign media to observe the upcoming referendum and the 13th parliamentary elections and to apply in accordance with Articles 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, and 3.1 of the International Election Observer and Foreign Media Policy 2025 by January 17, 2026,” it added.
