DHAKA, Dec 12, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a statement said they have launched an extensive operation to arrest miscreants who shot and critically injured Inquilab Manch spokesperson Osman Hadi.

According to police sources, the attack occurred at 2:25pm today in Bijoynagar Box Culvert area, where motorcycle-borne assailants opened fire on Hadi before fleeing the scene. 

The victim sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a city hospital.

The DMP has strongly condemned what it described as a “heinous and cowardly” act. 

Officers rushed to the scene immediately after receiving the report and have since collected and reviewed CCTV footage from nearby locations.

Both the local police station and the Detective Branch are carrying out coordinated search operations targeting suspected individuals and locations.

Authorities expressed confidence that the attackers will be swiftly apprehended, citing recent successful resolutions of high-profile cases. 

The DMP has urged city residents to remain calm and to report any relevant information through the nearest police station or emergency number 999.

The police reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order ahead of the upcoming election and ensuring the safety of Dhaka’s residents.
