RAJSHAHI, Dec 3, 2025 (BSS)- Rajshahi university (RU) authority has taken 
decisions to extend support towards the students with special needs for their 
welfare.

As per the decision, ramps will be added in all academic and administrative 
buildings, dormitories and auditorium, cafeteria, Jubery Bhaban and Senate 
building.

For the convenience of the challenged students, lifts will be installed in 
administrative and academic buildings.

The decisions were taken in the 544th meeting of syndicate, the highest 
policy-making body of the public university, held last night with Vice-
chancellor Prof Saleh Hassan Naquib in the chair.

Seats in the residential halls will be allocated for the financially 
insolvent students on priority basis. Ground floor rooms adjacent to the 
washrooms will be allocated for the students with special needs.' 

Number of stipends for the talented disabled students will be enhanced based 
on demands.

High Commode will be set up in at least one washroom on the ground floor in 
each block of the dormitories, academic and administrative buildings.
