KHULNA, Dec 2, 2025 (BSS) - Khulna University (KU) and 'Shatotto Architecture
for Green Living' today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to
introduce the Rafique Azam Travel Scholarship for students of the
Architecture Discipline.
The MoU was signed at the administrative building by KU Treasurer Professor
Dr Md Nurunnabi and Nur-e-Jannat Jui, partner of 'Shatotto Architecture for
Green Living' on behalf of their respective sides.
Following the signing ceremony, both parties exchanged copies of the
agreement.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Md Nurunnabi said the scholarship would open a
platform for students to gain international exposure and enhance their
creative and professional skills.
Architect Rafique Azam, founder of Shatotto, said architecture is a journey
of understanding people, culture and nature, and the initiative would enrich
young architects' global perspectives.
Established in 2010, the scholarship has been offered in several countries,
including India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Australia, as well as Brac
University. For the first time, KU students will now be eligible.
Third and fourth-year students of the Architecture Discipline may apply for
the scholarship. The selected student will receive a week-long residential
work experience in any listed country, with air travel, accommodation, meals
and local transport covered.
After returning, the awardee must submit a report and presentation. One
student will receive the scholarship each year.
Teachers of the Architecture Discipline were present at the ceremony.
