Experts emphasize improving quality of education in Khulna

KHULNA, Nov 24, 2025 (BSS) - Experts at a view-exchange meeting in Dumuria upazila today stressed that improving the quality of education requires modern and regular classroom teaching, dedication of teachers, and the active involvement of parents.

Experts noted that although higher education facilities have expanded nationwide, ensuring quality remains a significant challenge.

They said teachers must be sincere, skilled and student-focused, while parents should regularly communicate with schools to support their children’s progress.

They also emphasised moral and value-based education, reducing excessive exam pressure and creating a positive learning environment where students develop creativity, discipline and strong character.

Organised by the Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Jashore, the programme was held at the Shaheed Zobayer Ali Auditorium, where Chairman of the Jashore Education Board Dr Mosammat Asma Begum addressed as the chief guest.

Implemented by Upazila Secondary Education Office of Dumuria, UNO Md Zahurul Islam presided over the meeting.

Professor SM Mahabubul Islam, Secretary of the Board, Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Matin, Controller of Examinations, Dr Md. Kamruzzaman, School Inspector, and SM Sayedur Rahman, District Education Officer in Khulna, addressed as special guests.

Dumuria Upazila Secondary Education Officer Dibashish Biswas, teacher Muhammad Ayub Husain and several others also spoke on the occasion.

Dr Mosammat Asma Begum highlighted that modern, methodical, and regular classroom teaching plays the most important role in enhancing learning outcomes. Quality teaching not only benefits students but also brings professional satisfaction and recognition to teachers, she added. 

Professor SM Mahabubul Islam said parents should actively communicate with teachers. At least once a week, guardians should meet teachers respectfully to know about their children’s progress, he added. 

Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Matin said students must support their weaker classmates, and the classroom must ensure an environment where teachers can teach effectively.
