RAJSHAHI, Dec 26, 2023 (BSS)- Rajshahi University (RU) today launched smart

classrooms in its 43 departments simultaneously aimed at infusing dynamism
into teaching and learning activities with the best use of information and
communication technologies (ICT).

Prior to this, all the departments were equipped with modern amenities. From
now on, the students can avail scopes of doing class through display enriched
with ICT.

Vice-chancellor (VC) Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar inaugurated the smart
classrooms at Dr Wazed Mian Academic building. Pro-vice-chancellor Prof
Humayun Kabir, Treasurer Prof Obayedur Rahman Pramanik and Social Science
Faculty Dean Prof Ekram Ullah were present on the occasion.

Director of ICT Centre Prof Khademul Islam Mollah focused on the aspects of
the smart classrooms through smart projector saying there is no scope of
using any other board rather than smart display in the smart classrooms.

Apart from the classroom students, outreach students can also attend the
classes in the smart classrooms as those have two cameras and a modern sound
system.

Both the indoor and outdoor students will not face any problem in the audio-
visual system.

In his remarks, Prof Golam Sabbir mentioned that the smart classrooms will
enhance the interest of students towards learning. Students can also avail
the scopes of attaining ICT knowledge.

He said the smart classrooms, as a whole, will contribute a lot towards
generating skilled human resources in the field of science and technology.
 
VC Prof Golam Sabbir said the venture will supplement the government's
endeavor towards building a smart Bangladesh envisioned by Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina.
