DHAKA, Dec 23, 2023 (BSS) - Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak today said that BNP has lost its political identity.

BNP-Jamaat is following the footsteps of 'Purba Banglar Sarbahara Party' which carried out secret killings in Bangladesh during post independence period, he said, adding that BNP is creating obstacles in election process while the polls will be held in a festive mood.

BNP is conducting such acts as it has lost its political identity," he said.

Nanak, also AL-backed candidate for Dhaka-13 constituency, told reporters during the election campaign on behalf of 'Boat' for the 12th parliamentary elections in city's Agargaon, Taltala and Shamoli areas.

Noting that a marry mood is being created among the mass people centering the upcoming national election slated for January 7, 2024, he said when people are in joyous mood, in such a time BNP-Jamaat want to kill the country's democracy by standing on the way of election process and endangering the country's sovereignty and independence.

Dhaka North City unit of AL President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman and Dhaka North AL Organizing Secretary Azizul Haque Rana were present, among others, on the occasion.
