DHAKA, Nov 12, 2023 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) so far have arrested over 300 people from different areas including the capital in connection with the incidents of violence and sabotage triggered from the grant rally organized by the BNP-Jammat on October 28.
 
"The arrest took place for being involved with unleashing attack, vandalism during BNP's rally in city's Paltan area ... and perpetrating various crimes including violence, sabotage, vandalism, arson, cocktail explosions, hurling petrol bombs on buses, police murder and injuring journalists later at different places across the country", said RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khondoker Al Moyeen.
 
To ensure security of the people, a total of 450 RAB patrol teams have been working across the country since the first day of 48-hours blockade enforced by BNP-Jammat. Of these, 150 RAB patrol teams have been engaged in the capital on the first day of the 4th time blockade.
 
Even the elite forces have also strengthened the cyber surveillance aiming to identify those one who would be involved with cyber crime activities through spreading rumors in an attempt to deteriorate the law and order situation.
 
The RAB forces are also working to bring the alleged culprits under the purview of law after analyzing the CCTV and video footages collecting from the mass and social medias for their alleged involvement of arson attack, vandalizing of public transports and committing various types of violence and sabotage at various places including the capital.
 
Moreover, the elite forces are also providing 'escort' to the long distance public transports and freight transports as the people and the freight could safely reach various destinations across the country, noted the RAB official.
