Four buses set on fire in capital tonight

DHAKA, Nov 11, 2023 (BSS) – Four passenger buses have been set on fire in Arambagh, Gabtali, Gulistan and Jatrabari areas in the capital within 40 minutes between 8.20pm and 9pm tonight.
 
Fire service and civil defence's media cell officer in charge Mohammad Shahjahan Shikder confirmed the matter.

A ‘Lal-Sabuj’ passenger bus was set on fire in front of Notre Dame College at 8:20 pm. Two units of Siddique Bazar fire station doused the fire.

On the other hand, a bus of Gabtali Express was set on fire in front of Gabtali bus stand around 8:30 pm. Two units of Kalyanpur Fire Station brought the fire under control.

The third incident took place at Gabtali around 9 pm as another bus was set on fire in front of Sergeant Ahad Police Box.

Another bus was torched in Jatrabari area tonight, fire service sources said.

Two crude bombs were exploded in front of Babul Tower at Farmgate at 7.15pm, said Tejgaon thana officer-in-charge Apurba Biswas.

BNP has announced nationwide blockade for Sunday and Monday. Many public vehicles were also torched during the previous blockade programme of BNP in the last few weeks.
