DHAKA, March 14, 2023 (BSS)-Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar today said Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony. 

“There is no space of communalism and extremism in this country. Nationalism, socialism, democracy and secularism are the main motto of the constitution of Bangladesh,” he told the opening ceremony of a daylong seminar on the role of teachers, students and media personnel in prevention of extremism and prevention of cybercrime virtually.

Counter-Terrorism and International Crime Prevention Centre Construction Project of Bangladesh Police arranged the seminar in Netrakona, a ministry press release said

Speaking as chief guest, Jabbar said the present government, imbued with the spirit of the Great Liberation War, is committed to uprooting the extremism and communal evil forces from the country. 

“Communal, militant and terrorist forces must be uprooted and should be resisted at all levels,” he said.

Chaired by Netrakona Police Superintendent Foyez Ahmed, the function was addressed, among others, by Additional Deputy Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Nazmul Islam, educationist Matindra Sarkar and Netrakona Press Club general secretary M Mokhlesur Rahman Khan.
