DHAKA, Feb 27, 2023 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested kingpin of a snatching gang Mohabbat Mia and his 31 accomplices during separate operations in the city. 

Acting on a tip-off, a RAB-3 team arrested the snatchers conducting raids in city's Kotwali, Motijheel, Khilgaon, Rampura, Hatirjheel, Sabujbagh and Shahjahanpur from Sunday evening until early in the morning today, said Captain Lt Col. Arif Mohiuddin at a press conference here this noon.

He said RAB-3 conducted a total of 79 operations and arrested 268 snatchers in the last six months.

RAB-3 commanding officer Arif Mohiuddin said the arrestees are - gang leader Mohabbat Mia (40), Md Masum (35), Fazal Kha (32), Md Saif( 30), Md Akash (24), Md Abu Bakar (21), Md Nazrul Islam (40), Md Alamgir (22), Md Jahangir (28), Md Sohel (19), Md Sohel (32), Md Sohanur Rahman Sagar (20), Md Mamun (19), Liton (21), Md Almas (28), Sujon Mia (22), Rakib (25), Md Ripon (22), Md Kalam (40), Md Nazrul Islam (40), Md Summon Mridha (26) , Ontor Hossain Robin (24), Md Abdul Rasul (38) , Md Kabir (25), Md Samidul Rahman (34), Ikbal Hossain (20), Kamrul (21), Shahidul Islam Ujjal (26), Md Sumon (25), Md Ridoy (19) And Md Sajid Khan (19) etc.

He said knives, razors, anti-cutters, blades, scissors and many home-made weapons were seized from their possession.
