Lawmakers call for unity to eliminate anti-liberation forces from politics

 

DHAKA, Jan 22, 2023 (BSS) - Lawmakers today urged people of 
all strata to be united for eliminating anti-liberation evil forces from politics as the forces are the main impediment to development. 

The anti-liberation forces BNP-Jammat need to remove from the politics for the greater interest of the country's development, they said while taking part in the discussion on thanksgiving motion of the President's speech at the Jatiya Sangsad here with Deputy Speaker Shamsul Haque Tuku in the chair.
 
Taking part in the discussion, the lawmakers highlighted different development activities in various sectors including communication, socio-economic, education, youth and sports, information and communication technology (ICT) under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The President in his 168-page speech on January 5 last, on the first day of the maiden session in 2023 of the 11th parliament, focused on the country's massive successes in different sectors.
 
"BNP-Jammat is the main patrons of militancy and these evil forces need to be exiled from the politics for consolidating the independence, sovereignty, democracy and humanity", said Mrinal Kanti Das of Munshiganj-3.

These anti-liberation forces are the main barriers on the highway of prosperity, said the treasury bench lawmaker, adding that BNP leader Tarique Rahman is now being engaged in anti-nation propaganda.

When the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is taking the country ahead facing militancy and now the BNP-Jammat clique again hatching conspiracy to topple the elected government, said State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Mohammad Enamur Rahman.

On the necessity of national unity, BM Kabirul Haque of Narail-1 said, "We need a national unity, but the unity will be built with whom ...and it is my question to the nation."
 
Although the country is facing global recession due to Ukraine-Russia war, the country is progressing ahead under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, said Simeen Hussain(Rimi) of Gazipur-4.

Participating in the discussion, Dhirendra Devnath Shamvu of Barguna-1 said the BNP is now trying to make the country instable like Pakistan through announcing the 27-point charter for repairing state 
as they have no respect to the constitution as well as Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
     
Earlier, chief whip Nur-E Alam Chowdhury came up with a proposal for holding discussion on thanksgiving motion of the President's speech in the House and then it was seconded by treasury bench lawmaker Shamsul Huq Tuku.

Treasury bench lawmakers including Md. Shafiqul Azam Khan of Jhenaidah-3, Naheed Ezaher Khan of Women seat-5, Ahasanul Islam (Titu) of Tangail-6, Jinnatul Bakia of women seat-2, Rumana Ali of Women seat-14 and Ferdosi Islam of Women seat-38 took part in the discussion.

The lawmakers also thanked the President for giving a timely speech highlighting the success stories of the government and guiding the nation towards peace, progress and prosperity.

Earlier, they paid a rich tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for his contribution to establishing an independent Bangladesh.
