DHAKA, Jan 15, 2023 (BSS) - The New Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain paid 
a courtesy call on President M Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban here this evening.

Later, the President congratulated Md Mahbub Hossain for being appointed as 
the Cabinet Secretary, President's Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin told BSS.

On January 02, the government appointed Senior Secretary of the Energy and 
Mineral Resources Division Md Mahbub Hossain as the Cabinet Secretary-- the 
top post in the civil bureaucracy-- replacing Kabir Bin Anwar who retired 
from the government service on the day, 18 days after his appointment.

During the meeting, the Cabinet Secretary sought the guidance and cooperation 
of the President in fulfilling his assignment, the Press Secretary added. 

The Head of the State also wished Mahbub Hossain's success in the days to 
come as the new Cabinet Secretary.
