COX’S BAZAR, Dec 13, 2022 (BSS) - Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said as the BNP’s December 10 rally was a super flop, its leaders are talking perplexed and become desperate now.
“We scored goals in the quarter final, we will score goals in the semifinal also, and we will win in the final too. This game is a game of national elections,” he said while virtually speaking at the triennial conference of Cox’s Bazar District Awami League held at Cox's Bazar Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium.
Quader asked local AL leaders to evaluate the sacrifice of those who upheld the spirit of the party during its difficult times. So, spring cuckoos should not be kept in the party.
He said that the country’s people know better about the AL leaders and what they do, but they (people) do not say anything as the leaders are in power, asking the AL grassroots leaders to remain alert so that none can do misdeeds using the party’s name.
Earlier in the day, AL presidium member Engineer Mosharraf Hossain inaugurated the conference.
AL joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, its organising secretary Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud Swapan, religious affairs secretary Sirajul Mustafa, relief and social welfare secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, deputy publicity secretary Aminul Islam and deputy minister for education Barrister Muhibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, among others, spoke at the meeting with Cox’s Bazar District AL president Faridul Islam Chowdhury in the chair.
Cox’s Bazar District AL general secretary Mujibur Rahman conducted the conference.
Later, Hanif announced the committee of Cox's Bazar District Awami League for the next 3 years.
Faridul Islam Chowdhury and Mujibur Rahman have been selected as the president and the general secretary of Cox's Bazar District AL respectively.
