Bangladesh reports 446 fresh cases, seven deaths from Covid-19

DHAKA, March 8, 2022 (BSS) - Bangladesh today reported 446 Covid-19 cases

while the coronavirus claimed overnight seven lives.

"The country reported 2.23 percent Covid-19 positive cases as 19,964 samples
were tested in the past 24 hours," Directorate General of Health
Services(DGHS) said in its routine daily statement.

In the past 24 hours, the combined figure of coronavirus in Dhaka city and
upazilas of the district is 312 while five Covid-19 deaths were reported
during the period.

The official tally showed that the virus killed 29,096 people and infected
19,48,148 so far, the statement added.

The recovery count rose to 18,49,946 after another 3,062 patients were
discharged from the hospitals during the past one day.

From the beginning of the pandemic, 94.96 percent Covid-19 patients
recovered among the infected people while 1.49 percent died, the DGHS
statistics showed.

The DGHS said among the total 29,096 fatalities, 12,781 occurred in Dhaka
division, 5,860 in Chattogram, 2,139 in Rajshahi, 3,715 in Khulna, 981 in
Barishal, 1,325 in Sylhet, 1,416 in Rangpur and 879 in Mymensingh division.
