Bangladesh reports 3,929 fresh cases, 15 deaths from Covid-19

   DHAKA, Feb 16, 2022 (BSS) - Bangladesh today reported 3,929 Covid-19 cases 
while the coronavirus claimed overnight 15 lives. 

  "The country reported 12.20 percent Covid-19 positive cases as 32,207 
samples were tested in the past 24 hours," Directorate General of Health 
Services (DGHS) said in its routine daily statement.

  In the past 24 hours, the combined figure of coronavirus in Dhaka city and 
upazilas of the district is 2,225 while three Covid-19 deaths were reported 
during the period.  

  The official tally showed that the virus killed 28,887 people and infected 
19,23,031 so far, the statement added.  

  The recovery count rose to 17,16,066 after another 12,757 patients were 
discharged from the hospitals during the past one day.  

  From the beginning of the pandemic, 89.24 percent Covid-19 patients 
recovered among the infected people while 1.50 percent died, the DGHS 
statistics showed.

  The DGHS said among the total 28,887 fatalities, 12,681 occurred in Dhaka 
division, 5,819 in Chattogram, 2,121 in Rajshahi, 3,700 in Khulna, 973 in 
Barishal, 1,313 in Sylhet, 1,403 in Rangpur and 877 in Mymensingh division.
