DHAKA, Dec 18, 2023 (BSS) - The Election Commission (EC) has decided to
deploy members of armed forces for 13 days from December 29 to January 10 for
peaceful holding of the 12 Jatiya Sangsad (JS) elections slated for January
7.

EC today sent a letter to principal staff officer of Armed Forces Division
(AFD) to take required measures to this end.

In the letter, EC said it decided to deploy members of armed forces in all
300 constituencies of the country to extend cooperation to civil
administration under "In Aid to the Civil Power" to maintain law and order
before, during and after the voting slated for January 7.
