DHAKA, Dec 15, 2022 (BSS) - The government has reduced the retail prices of palm and soybean oil by Taka 5 per litre.

     The new price rate will be effective from December 18, as per a Commerce Ministry circular issued today.

     As per the new rate, one-litre bottled soybean oil will be sold at Taka 187 instead of Taka 192 while loose soybean at Taka 167 instead of Taka 172 and palm oil (super) at Taka 117 against Taka 121.

     However, the price of five-litre bottled soybean oil has been fixed at Taka 906 instead of Taka 925.

     The government took the decision after scrutinising the current import, stock and prices of the essential cooking ingredient, according to the circular.
