THAKURGAON, Jan 25, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said if BNP comes to power, the judiciary will become truly independent, impartial and a symbol of justice, where there will be no government interference.
He made the remarks while speaking during his election campaign at Kalitala in Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila this afternoon.

The BNP Secretary General said: “This country is yours, you can vote whoever you want. But you should not hand over this country to someone who opposed the country’s independence and committed genocide in 1971."

"We want a world of love, a beautiful world where creating division on the basis of religion is not acceptable in any way. Through the student movement, we have now got an opportunity to build a new Bangladesh. That opportunity is on the national election on February 12,” he said.

Fakhrul said through this election, BNP wants such a government that will represent the Bangladeshi people when it goes to parliament and it will not create any discrimination on the basis of religion or caste.

He said the country was shocked at the death of former three times Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia because its people considered her their source of hope.

Today, he said, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is their leader.

Fakhrul said under the leadership of Tarique Rahman, BNP wants to bring about a radical positive change in the country.

“We want the women empowerment. The ‘Family Card’ will ensure this women empowerment to women. Through this, a woman will get all the daily essentials of her family at a limited price, and will play a role in bearing the livelihood of a family,” he said.

Apart from this, the BNP secretary general said, farmers will get seeds, fertilizers, pesticides at fair prices through Farmer’s Card and will get fair prices for their agricultural products.

The BNP has a plan to provide employment to 10 million people within 18 months if it goes to power, he said.

He said Begum Khaleda Zia had made girls' education free up to class XII, now BNP will make women's education free of cost up to graduation level.

BNP leaders and activists from different levels were present at the meeting with Salandar Union BNP President Golam Maula Chowdhury in the chair.
