National Mourning Day being observed in Mymensingh

MYMENSINGH, Aug 15, 2022 (BSS) - The National Mourning Day and 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is being observed in the district today with a fresh vow to bring back all the fugitive convicted killers of Bangabandhu to execute their conviction.

An elaborate programme is being held on the National Mourning Day. The programme includes hoisting of national flag half-mast, raising black flags, wearing black badges, placing wreaths, discussion, painting, essay writings, rendering hamd-nath, recitation from holy Quran and poems, Quran Khani, Milad, special Doa mahfil and screening films.
   
To observe the day, floral wreaths were placed on the mural of Bangabandhu near Circuit House from 9 am today.

State Minister for Housing and Public Works Sharif Ahamed ,MP,  and  Monira Sultana Moni, MP,  first placed wreaths at the Mural  of Bangabandhu near Circuit house at the beginning of placing wreath.

Divisional Commissioner Shafiqur Raza Biswas ,Mayor Ekramul Haque Teto ,DIG of Police Deb Das Bhattacharya,  Deputy Commissioner Md. Enamul Haque,  Police Super Ahamaruzzaman, Administration of Zilla Parisad  Yusuf Khan Pathan,  Secretary of district Awami League  Muazzem Hosain Babul , Secretary of Mymensingh Press club Mohitur Rahman Santa , Awami League and its front organisations, leaders of BCL, district administrations and officials of the government offices and socio cultural organisations paid homage to Bangabandhu by placing floral wreaths at the monument of Bangabandhu at the Circuit House.
 
Besides, State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid, MP, placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Muktagacha Mukti Juddah Complex at 9am.

Marking the day, District Awami League and its front organisations are observing the day through different programmes.
