DHAKA, Sept 3, 2026 (BSS) - A court here today ordered the attachment of 284 decimals of land, two SUVs and the freezing of six bank accounts belonging to former Railway Minister Mujibul Haque in connection with graft allegations.
Judge Md Shahjahan Kabir of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Court passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The anti-graft body in its plea said that a case was filed against Mujibul Haque for abusing his power and, in collusion with others and with dishonest intent, acquiring and possessing Taka 7.39 crore in assets beyond his known sources of income. An investigation officer has been appointed to investigate the case and submit a report.
"During the investigation, a review of the records revealed that the accused was attempting to transfer and dispose of his movable and immovable assets held in his name or linked to his interests. There is a risk of substantial loss if the properties were transferred or otherwise disposed of before the case was concluded," the plea added.
