CHATTOGRAM, Sept 9, 2026 (BSS)- In the past 24 hours, law enforcement agency has detained 534 individuals during anti-drug special operations and routine activities in 11 districts in the Chattogram Range, according to the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) office of the Chattogram Range.
Police stated that among the 534 arrests 116 individuals in regular cases, 29 under Section 34 of the Police Act, 8 under Section 54 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), 114 against arrest warrants, and 23 against conviction warrants.
Additionally, 244 people were arrested in drug-related cases. Among them were 67 drug dealers, 8 drug couriers, and 169 drug users.
During the anti-drug drive, 79 individuals were sentenced to imprisonment by mobile courts, and fines totaling Taka 13,600 were collected. A total of 55 drug-related cases were filed during the operation.
A total of 9,102 Yaba tablets, 328 liters country made liquor, 20.7 kg of cannabis, 13 bottles of Kingfisher beer, 2 bottles of Scuff syrup, 596 Tapentadol tablets, 6 bottles of Indian whisky, and 16 bottles of foreign liquor were seized during the drive.
Police stated that this special operation, conducted in the public interest, will continue.
